was founded by James Lindenberg of Bolinao Electronics, Corp. on June 13, 1946 , becoming Asia's first commercial television broadcaster in 1953. It is part of the Lopez Group of Companies. It also broadcasts content to the rest of the world through The Filipino Channel (via cable), TFC Direct (direct-to-home satellite), TFCko (IPTV video on demand) and TFCnow internet TV. And just recently, Sky Broadband and Bayan Telecommunication launched "i Wantv!", a free internet service created to answer the growing demand of television entertainment. It incorporates some of ABS-CBN's top rating shows.

ABS-CBN Network (ABS-CBN) also known as Kapamilya Network is a major commercial television network in the Philippines. It is owned and operated by ABS-CBN Corporation. The first broadcast was on October 23, 1953 in a garden party in Quirino's residence using DZAQ-TV (owned by James Lindenberg of BEC), the first television station in the Philippines. The broadcast was the second commercial television broadcast in Asia and the first in the Philippines and Southeast Asia.
Today the flagship terrestrial VHF television channel of ABS-CBN Network is DWWX-TV also known as ABS-CBN 2 Manila. The Network operate through its 36 terrestrial VHF channels and 43 terrestrial UHF channels nationwide, and TFC's over 2 million viewers worldwide. It also maintains its 43 regional stations and television relays nationwide, 4 affiliate networks, 16 radio stations throughout the Philippines, and one news headquarter for each continent or region worldwide.
